In what ways does your media products use, develop and challenge forms and conventions of real media products? In the research of my promotional package I looked at a trailer for ‘The Witch’ in order to understand the codes and conventions of my genre. Using my analysis of this I was able to use codes and conventions in our trailer to establish the genre. For my Poster and Magazine I analysed posters and magazines of ‘Jennifer’s Body’ and ‘Evil Dead.’ In the trailer we used a lot of dark shots over light shots, especially when the villain was involved in order to create tension and create a sense of claustrophobia like ‘The Witch’ does. We also used fake blood that we put on the main characters face similar to the Witch in order to better establish that something bad had happened.
